Smart TVs are all the rage these days. With more and more people wanting to have increased options when it comes to watching TV, the rise in the purchases of Smart TVs should not come as a surprise.
However, one thing that these TV sets do not get you rid of is TV ports. This means that you will need to look for a TV port guide even if you own a Smart TV. It shouldn’t be that annoying though.
And in case you are planning to purchase one this year, here are some trends to watch out for.
Bigger and Cheaper TV Screens
There was a time when even a 42-inch screen seemed like a gigantic one. Fast forward to this day, even a 65-inch screen fails to please some.
As time is progressing, bigger screens are becoming more common. Where people were reluctant to invest in huge screens merely because of the high cost that they came at, trends are changing now.
Researches show that the purchase of 65-inch screens is more than ever before. This is good and bad both. As the companies who manufacture 55-inch screens and less are struggling.
If we talk about this change in trend, then the price would have to play an integral part. Not only are people investing more in 65-inch screens but many are also opting for 70-inch and above.
Hadn’t it been for the decrease in the price of these bigger screens, people would have never considered the option.
Brighter and Better HDR
HDR has been in the news since 2019 and it will continue to make highlights this year as well. Many companies are adding the HDR screens in their 4K TVs. However, how well it will work is something a buyer would only know when he gets to use the TV. Many sets do not have what it needs to support HDR.
For example, the right brightness, video processing ability, and black levels. This hinders the HDR program by showing all the features.
As a rule, consumers experienced a better display of the HDR programs in pricier TV sets.
However, there were a few exceptions in that case as well. Things will be different this year though. The manufacturers are expecting that almost all the 4K TVs will support the HDR features. This means that 4K TV set owners will experience enhanced brightness and better picture quality.
So, this is the year when investing in a 4K TV will pay you off in the best way possible. Do not hesitate and if you are planning, invest in one.
Get Ready for 8K TVs
People were not yet done with 4Ks and 8K TV sets are here with even more features to offer. Making their debut in 2019, 8K TV sets come with an astonishing display of 33 Million pixels. This is more than four times that offered by 4K TV sets (8 Million pixels). In 2019, only two manufacturers (LG and Samsung) offered TV sets with 8K resolution. However, more companies are set to launch their versions of 8K TV sets this year.
In case you are wondering what the extra millions of pixels mean, then they promise sharper pictures, along with more detailed images. Having said so, it is not recommended to invest in one now. As you should wait for reviews to pour in. Especially if you worked hard to save money for this TV set.
To be honest, not many people will notice a difference between 8K and 4K sets as well unless they are tech fanatics. Another reason for you to not invest right now is that not too much native content will be available for you to watch on your pricey 8K TV set as yet.
Improved LCD Quality
Although OLED TVs’ purchase has been on the rise bit LCDs’ purchase does not seem to slow down either. Much of it is due to the constant improvement in LCD technology. Some of the features that make LCDs a hit are the backlight technology, and the inclusion of more zones.
LCD TV sets are set to become better and they will keep on improving. If you do not believe me, compare two models from different years and you will notice a huge difference.
New TV Brands
There have been many prominent TV brands in the market including Samsung, LG, Mitsubishi, and Panasonic. However, this year you will see even more brands in the market. This means that there will be some affordable options too apart from the pricey brands that ruled the market until now. Most of these new companies will be Chinese.
As far as the compatibility of cable TV services is concerned, almost all of them will be compatible with Cox Contour TV and other prominent company’s deals. You should focus on choosing wisely and according to your needs. Do not overspend only because of a TV set in trendy and pricey. Look for value for money.
What do you think – when will we have 8k Quality LED TV to watch our favorite shows, episodes and movies?
